Sound Summit 2012, Newcastle

Took some photos. Here are a small handful, but there are a whole lot more here. For the full (hand-picked, versatile, and very impressive) line-up see here. These are a mixture between film & digital and are all from the Croatian Wickham Sports Club showcases.

Totally Autumn at the Croatian Wickham Sports Club, Newcastle, 09/04/11

Here's a good way to "document" a day: drink too many polish beers, get snap happy with an old camera sans flash, forget that you should probably try and hold it still, roll around on the grass. So please excuse the blur.

Anyway, Spring Break delivers, once again. My favourite 3 bands of the day were: Dead Farmers, Bare Grillz, Woollen Kits. The full line-up was -

EAT SKULL (USA) + MY DISCO (VIC) + SLUG GUTS (QLD) + ANGEL EYES (VIC) + HOLY BALM (SYD) + THE LAURELS (SYD) + ELECTRIC JELLYFISH (US/VIC) + ALPS + TV COLOURS (ACT) + DEAD FARMERS (SYD) + SECRETS (NZ) + THE HOLY SOUL (SYD) + WHORES (SYD) + CRAB SMASHER + WOOLLEN KITS (VIC) + RITES WILD (SA) + BARE GRILLZ + RAT KING + SLEEPWALKS (QLD) + COCK SAFARI + THE FIGHTING LEAGUE (ACT) + THE NUGS + CISTERN CORRUPT + PHOBIAC + BAT YOGHURT + DJ ANGELA BERMUDA (CIRCLE PIT)
+ “LADYZ IN NOYZ” SHOWCASE FEAT: | DAISY BUCHANAN | FESTIVE JACKALS | ONION | ONNIE ART | ORANJ PUNJABI | BONNIE MERCER |

(I went through one and a half 36-exposure rolls, thus the mega post. And these aren't really in chronological order.)

Thee Oh Sees at Summer Vibes Festival, Croatian Club, Newcastle 16/01/2011

Finally got these developed. In short: Thee Oh Sees played on the floor, everyone went nuts, I shook the camera in drunken stupor in a dark room, and this ruled. For the rest of the festival, see here. And for Thee Oh Sees at the Annandale, you can look here! Woo.

(we love ECSR over this way, too.)
