Summer Vibes at Croatian Wickham Sports Club, Newcastle, 16/01/2011

Finally got my film developed, so I can a month later post some of the photos from what was this incredible festival (though it is somewhat fitting, as the next round, Totally Autumn ft. Eat Skull got announced today). Basically everyone ruled (or everyone I saw anyway), and the day was filled with polish beer, wood fired pizza, lawn bowls, elderly people playing Bocce, lazing around in the sun, more polish beer, some cider, a BBQ, sweet sweet vibes and nice people. You should probably tell your work now that you won't be coming in the weekend of April 9.

The line-up was:
THEE OH SEES (USA) + STRAIGHT ARROWS (SYD) + TOTAL CONTROL (VIC) + ABSOLUTE BOYS (VIC) + CIRCLE PIT (SYD) + KIRIN J CALLINAN (SYD) + KITCHEN’S FLOOR (QLD) + BARE GRILLZ + HORSE MACGYVER (ACT) + PER PURPOSE + ALPS + CURED PINK + ASSASSINS 88 (ACT) + IN THE DOLLHOUSE + STITCHED VISION + THE NUGS + LOVE PARADE + TEEN AX + UNFIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION + POLYFOX & THE UNION OF THE MOST GHOSTS + CISTERN CORRUPT + DANGER BEACH (ACT) + THE PAUL KIDNEY EXPERIENCE (VIC) + NONE MUSIC + PAUL HESLIN (ACT) + DJ AVANT HARD + SPRING BREAK DJS

My photos of Thee Oh Sees are over another roll which isn't even close to being finished, so hold out for that. Though judging by the end of this roll and the progression of blur as my blood became higher in alcohol content, they might not be visible at all. All of the photos can be seen here.

Bed Wettin' Bad Boys, Naked On The Vague, and Circle Pit at The Sandringham Hotel, 01/08/10

Fundraiser for Circle Pit's USA tour (of which I cannot find the dates anywhere which is a bit silly). The new band room at The Sando is pretty sweet and wasn't there before I left. On the note of before I left, the last thing I heard come out of one of the BWBB's mouths was "I'm sick of people thinking of us as a joke band!" and they did good. They're fer real now and it's gewd. NOTV are jus' wonderful (and always have been) and Circle Pit were pretty on the money for their infamous hit-or-miss reputation. It was good to hear the songs off the albums they've released in my absence. I'm not all too enamoured with the shots, but yeah and stuff. How's my new lazy writing style.
